Who ... Is Kevin MacPhee ?

 

At 65, when most people are thinking about slowing down, Kevin MacPhee decided it was time to speed up.

 

For most of his life, Kevin was on the treadmill of life, dad, business owner and his kids coach. 

 

Like many people, life came first. There were businesses to grow, bills to pay, children to raise, and hockey games to coach. Creativity was always there, but it waited patiently in the background.

 

Kevin has never believed the best path is the busiest one or the most popular one. If there has been a common thread throughout his life, it has been a willingness to take the road less travelled and ask, "Why not?"

That mindset led him in many directions.

 

Throughout the 70' and 80's he was a skydiving instructor with more than 1,000 jumps. Married in 89, he was soon a hockey and baseball coach, helping young athletes develop both confidence and character. He built businesses, solved problems, and spent decades creating opportunities instead of waiting for them.

 

Then, after the age of 50, something unexpected happened. A friend convinced him to buy a guitar. He taught himself to play. In 2023, he wrote his first original song and was offered a recording contract. 

 

That single step unlocked something he hadn't fully explored before. The music led to stories. The stories led to characters. The characters led to entire worlds waiting to be created.

 

Today, Kevin is the creator of Whose Rock Whose Wagon™, The Imagine Wagon™, and a growing collection of children's books, Branthems and songs, characters, and original concepts published exclusively through WhoseRock Publishing™. 

 

His Whose Rock Whose Wagon work is built on a simple belief.  Children don't always remember lessons. They remember stories.

 

Whether writing a book, composing a song, or creating a new idea, Kevin's goal is always the same: create something original that leaves people a little better than before they discovered it.

 

Kevin doesn't see creativity as a gift reserved for artists. He sees it as something that can be discovered at any age. His journey is proof that your most meaningful work doesn't have to come first.

 

Sometimes it comes after decades of experience, after raising a family, after building a career, and after learning that it's never too late to begin.

Kevin believes the best stories aren't always the ones we go looking for, sometimes they're the ones we discover when we are not looking .. they just show up.
